Hey girls!!

Here's your makeup tip of the day: for those of you who have oily T-zone and feel like you are melting off your makeup and shiny all day long here's a secret makeup artist trick- don't laugh this is for real!

MILK OF MAGNESIA- yep that's it! I know yuk, but if you wash your face and then dab it on your T zone with a cotton ball it will dry white and then you can lightly wipe off with wet cloth. You can also apply as a mask but beware: use sparingly and don't overdo it bc it can tend to be a bit drying.

Please note that I am not an esthetician and this is not a proven remedy, but from experience it seems to work on most oily skin!

I picked up this entire line this week (yes all 21 colors) because of the following reasons:
1. Very affordable ($6.50)
2. Wide range of colors with 3 categories: Warm, Neutral and Cool
3. Easy to mix and match various skintones
4. Very easy to work with, light, realistic looking, dries to matte, almost powder finish (could go w/o powder over if in a pinch)

Phoenix Fashion Week Movie- "The Great Fashion Depression"

I just worked on the soon to be released Phoenix Fashion Week short film "The Great Fashion Depression" this last weekend. This concept was the brainchild of Chante Trepte, creator of 3 Chicks Production Co. The storyline goes a little something like this......

Fashion stylists, makeup artists and models have fallen on hard economic times and have been forced find work in fields they never imagined themselves in! Models are holding signs that read "Will Work For Fashion" while former stylist to the stars reigns Queen over her sweatshop employees. This was a fun shoot and will be shown at the Las Vegas M.A.G.I.C textile show drawing designers Nationwide!

So who doesn't love a little sparkle?? I discovered these fab glitters at IMATS and I LOVE them with a capitol L-O-V-E! These are highly pigmented and very finely milled. You could use these as a liner so you're not too over the top:)I love the copper sparkle and 3d silver the best but there are tons of color you can choose from. Best thing is that it comes with liner brush and fluid to make it stick on all day and night!

I heard about this product on YouTube and heard that a lot of MUA are using this not only as a moisturizer but also as a primer all in one! I picked up a stash at IMATs for an amazing price and have been using it religiously on myself as well as clients and so far I LOVE these products. I walked away with a slew of samples of the whole line and I am using them daily and I am a believer now! I will always recco this product - my new love! 5 out of 5 glammies!!

Imats is the International Makeup Artist Trade Show and it was awesome! There were makeup companies and artists from across the country that came together under one roof for this 2 day event. The line was enormous and once we got in, we hit all of our top spots (we committed the floor chart to memory!) I scored some Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars, and The Brush Sleeve among other things! I will do a review on all of these items very soon! Here's some pics in the mean time!

So far so good-

We made here all in one piece allbeit I had four flat tires and a bumper "incident" yesterday all on the way to getting my signature argyle pedi. AHHH, well we made it here and went right to Green Street Restaurant in Pasadena and it was amazing! Chipotle chicken with gouda and pickled red peppers. Champagne chambord martinis to top it off. Well worth the traffic and non functioning GPS with British accent. I digress... More to come! Yay makeup!

The best thing about NYX makeup is that its extremely affordable and fairly easy to find at Ulta. A good majority of the shadows are pigmented and last for a long while. The lip sticks and lip glosses are great as well, but are a bit more matte than shimmery. The lip liners are probably the best liners I've used and for the low price of $4 or under, they are totally worth every penny. Natural is my favorite of all time! I also like that you can buy mini palettes seen in the pics to the left as well. I haven't tried their mascara or blush but as for the eye shadow, lipstick, lip liner and gloss, I'm a huge fan! 5 out of 5 glammies!

How excited am I? I'm finally heading to IMATS (International Makeup Artist Trade Show) in LA after planning it for a whole year! I've saved my money and am ready to buy up new products for review online! I'm looking into YABY, Eve Pearl concealer, NYX, MAC, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and much much more! Drugstore Miracle?

Boy am I excited about this gem of a find!!! I've been a long time sufferer of severe dry skin and a very unglam skin condition called Keratosis Polaris(KP) which basically just causes red bumps on your upper arms that nothing seems to fix! My new Drugstore Miracle is Bio-Oil. I've seen this product in the drugstore for years and I just thought one day, "maybe this would be good on my face?" Well guess what? It's amazing on the face and the body! I've only been using for a couple of days and already I can see a difference in my skin on my face and my upper arms! This product can be found at your local drugstore and is less than $9!!! Woo Hoo and it lasts forever since a small drop will really cover a large area. I don't think I would suggest on the face if you have oily skin, but for dry skin sufferers, someone heard our prayers! 5 out of 5 Glammies!

REVIEW: Urban Decay Big Fatty Waterproof Mascara

So I was really excited to try this mascara because I always hear Kandee Johnson (You Tube Makeup Icon) rave about this product. I loved the packaging and the size of the wand, but it definitely had a strange smell. I noticed that the color to me was not nearly as black as my fav l'Oreal Voluminous Mascara. I really had to lather it on for 3 full coats and still not super impressed. While it did seem to make my lashes a bit fuller, I didn't feel that it accentuated the length or make them as dark as I wanted. Additionally, this stuff was ridiculously hard to get off! I would not use this on bride, photo shoot etc. I'm sorry to say I was extremely dissappointed and for $20 a tube it was definitely not a re-purchase! 1 out of 5 Glammies (would have been a 2 if price was better)

Best Black Eyeliner- Maybelline Expert Eyes

So we're all looking for THE best black eyeliner, right? One that will last all day or night and won't "travel" or wear off. Yep, I know, it has been an urban legend. I'm talking about lining the "waterline" of the eye on the inside of bottom lid. I was a die hard Urban Decay fan but it did travel by the end of the day. Maybelline is a classic and up until recently, I never thought to try it. I thought it was "cheap" aka didn't work well or was "passe" read: my mom used it... Well, I was wrong! A secret I just learned is that this is the cheapest and most black, long lasting eyeliner ever! THERE's a secret trick to it though! You have to light the end! Yep, get out the lighter and pass the pencil through the flame for a count of one, two, three and there you have it! Perfect and ready to line! I am sold and can't fathom finding something that tops this baby in price or performance! Don't forget to let the slightly melted pencil cool down just a bit before you place it in your eye LOL :) 5 out of 5 Glammies!

REVIEW: REVLON PHOTO READY FOUNDATION

Revlon's newest foundation formulation is touted by its maker as giving a "poreless airbrushed skin in any light. Photochromatic pigments bend and reflect light to erase any flaw". As an owner of an airbrush system I was skeptical. I've also tried the Revlon Color Stay formulation before and while the color range was varied and it offered full coverage capabilities, it didn't thrill me and seemed a little thick and sometimes hard to work with as far as application and "spreadability" factor wasn't there. I was apprehensive about trying this foundation, fearing that the "reflective" qualities would translate to "highlighting my wrinkles" but it actually was just the opposite! First off, let me say how much I love the pump Revlon added to the packaging. It's genius, there's is no mess and it's so easy to get a small amount. Once it is on the face, it was extremely easy to spread and forgiving in the time you had to work with it. It is very buildable and offered more coverage than I expected. I applied with my kabuki brush and my Sigma 187 and I really liked it with both brushes. I personally have red skin bordering on Rosacea so its important to find something that's opaque enough but doesn't make me look like I've got a mask on! I LOVED this foundation! It did deliver on making my skin look "dewy" and light did reflect - even my hubby stopped and mentioned- "Your face looks beautiful today" :) I tried it without my Smashbox primer underneath nor did I add powder on top and it still looked great! I would compare this to NARS Sheer Glow and Makeup Forever (MUFE) HD Invisible Cover foundation but for a FRACTION of the cost and the availability at your local drugstore or Target! FAB!! I like this better than any of my MAC foundations! I've been loyal to MUFE Mat Velvet + and will continue to, but this is going to be my new baby! I bought Nude and Natural Beige to mix for my coloring (usually an NW 23/NW25 in MAC). I give this product 4.5 out of 5 Glammies! It's a great price, easy to find, good coverage, natural looking, however it may not be great for all types of photos since it is reflective. I think better for summer than winter makeup. It also doesn't have a huge range of colors which was a little disappointing, but over all great product. Here's a helpful chart for you to color match if you use MAC- this isn't guaranteed, just an opinion!
